Here is my link for my Critical Reflection on Reflective Practice.
It has been posted to Google Docs, my choice of public Wiki.
I look forward to your feed back :)

I have really enjoyed your essay on reflective practise, particularly your ideas of reflection in action. I agree that as a teacher it can be challenging to find the way to appeal and get through to a large group of children (particularly in tap shoes!) and you need to adapt on the spot to their needs and requirements. I also feel that reflection has been part of what i've always done but haven't necessarily identified it.
ReplyDeleteYes the use of reflection a la Schon is useful - I think the hardest things is unpacking what we know in order to understand better how that process is working. You talk about preparation - and this thinking is really a type of preparation - it is preparing to be able to develop new strategies when needed in changing circumstance. I am still working on my 'active' learner side. At induction this year, people talked about providing role models for the children, so I think a teacher/instructor who takes learning seriously for themselves as well as their students is a good thing. We are all lifelong learners.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to say that I will never stop learning. The world is constantly changing and we need to move with it :)
